Have you decided to treat yourself to a motorcycle this summer?
They’re fuel efficient – so you’ll save at the pump. They’re fairly easy to purchase – so having a trade-in is not a must for this vehicle purchase. And, with our especially hot summer this year, it gives you the freedom and chance to enjoy the open road – whether you ride for recreation or for your commute.
Here are some care and road tip basics for the new motorcyclist:
- Keep up with your oil and remember to change the filters.
- Keep the chains lubricated.
- Check your brake fluids and pads.
- Check your tires often and keep them in tip-top shape. Tires are such an important factor for both cars and motorcycles. Caring for them will keep you under “great care.”
- Get used to how your new motorcycle feels loaded and not. Arrange your heavier bags to the base of anything you’re carrying on the bike. And, be sure to balance the weight.
- Check the weather outlook, especially if you’re traveling long distance on your motorcycle. Weather conditions can change drastically even over a course of 20 miles.
- Pack and dress in layers when you’re motorcycling. Those weather changes and pockets of “cold valleys” come fast when you’re riding and you’ll handle them better if you’re prepared for them. Remember, bring a towel!
- Prepare for winds. Be ready to protect yourself for wind gusts or windy conditions. Make sure you’re physically protected and be sure to take care of your bike, too.
Proper motorcycle care and maintenance will also make a difference in your riding experience. A well cared for motorcycle will provide you great joy and utility! Make sure you protect it when it’s parked. Leaves and dust can rest in the chain and wheel base. Heat can make the seat unbearable and wear down “the newness” of your new motorcycle. A portable garage is a definite option, especially if you want a new bike and want the entire event to be – easy. Your portable motorcycle garage would be ready quickly with none of the worries of building an actual carport – having to decide on the contractor, concrete provider, determining the position of underground gas and electric line, etc. (It makes me tired just thinking about it!)
At CanopyHut, we have you covered! Portable garages are available in sizes to fit your motorcycle, truck, or RV. You can also use them to store your boat for the winter. Virtually anything can be stored in a portable garage that you want to keep safe from the ravages of winter. The heavy-duty frames are made of steel and treated to resist the harshest of conditions.

Thanks for all the tips! They will surely come in handy in the near future. My dad gave me a motorcycle for my birthday (he loves big bikes!) so we could ride together during our leisure time. But I almost had a migraine attack thinking of how to properly store it since I don’t really have the luxury of space where I live.
Great thing I found out about Canopy Hut!
Congratulations on your new motorcycle! I am still contemplating on actually getting one for my son who’s turning 18 this month. He had asked for it for a long time and since he had shown that he is responsible enough for it I might give in to his request. I had to check though on some requisites like how to store the thing and the likes…good thing I was able to see this blog post!
Canopy Hut’s portable garage is a great choice, I know because I have one set up at home. Its so easy and hassle free to set up, no headaches planning and the guys at canopy are very helpful too. I got a Harley 2 months ago and since my home is still under renovation I don’t have a garage where I could store it. Thank goodness my buddy gave me this website and here I am, worry free. My bike is safely tucked in its Canopy Hut Portable Garage.
